In this notice we describe what personal data we process when you visit our website or get in touch with us, and what rights you have in this regard.

This is the English version of our Hungarian privacy notice (Adatkezelési tájékoztató). Both versions have the same content and are updated together.

What data do we process, why and for how long?

Contact by phone, email and the contact form

What data: your name, your business's name, your phone number or email address and your message. The website forwards the name, email address, message, chosen topic and page language you enter in the contact form to our email account by email, through Cloudflare's servers; the website itself doesn't store them. When you send the form, we also use your IP address: we count how many messages came from it in the past minute
Purpose: answering your questions and handling your request for a quote; with the IP-based count, protecting the contact form against bulk unsolicited messages
Legal basis: if you contact us as a private individual, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); if on behalf of a business, our legitimate interest in handling your request for a quote (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). For the IP-based count, our legitimate interest in keeping the form from being used to send bulk unsolicited messages (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR)
How long: TODO: confirm – for 1 year after the matter is closed. The IP-based counter covers a one-minute window and is kept by Cloudflare; we neither save nor see it

Running and securing the website

What data: your IP address, your browser type, the page requested and the time of the request (server log)
Purpose: serving the website and fending off attacks
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the website securely (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR)
How long: we neither save nor look at it; Cloudflare keeps it, according to its own privacy policy, for as long as the security of its service requires

Invoicing

What data: the details on your invoice (name, address and, for businesses, tax number)
Purpose: issuing and keeping the invoice
Legal basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR; Section 169 of Act C of 2000 on Accounting)
How long: 8 years

Handling complaints

What data: your name, your contact details, your complaint and our reply
Purpose: investigating and answering your complaint
Legal basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR; Section 17/A of Act CLV of 1997 on Consumer Protection)
How long: 3 years

Providing your data is not mandatory, but without it we cannot reply to you. Please don't write health data or other special categories of personal data in your messages (by email or in the contact form), and don't send passwords or bank card details. If we ever need anything like that, we'll first agree on how you can share it safely.

Who receives your data?

Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): processor: hosting and delivering the website (hosting, CDN), forwarding the messages sent with the contact form to our email account by email, and protecting the form against bulk messages (IP-based counting)
Google Ireland Limited (Ireland), Gmail: the provider of our email account: your emails, the messages you send with the contact form and your contact details are stored there

TODO: számlázó program: processor: issuing the invoices; by law, the invoice data also goes to the Hungarian tax authority (NAV)

Cloudflare also processes data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides adequate protection under European Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795; should Cloudflare's certification lapse, it transfers the data under the standard contractual clauses (Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914) included in its data processing agreement. Google may also process our email account's data in the United States; Google LLC participates in the same framework.

Cookies and local storage

Without your consent, the website places no cookies in your browser and does not measure traffic. In your browser's local storage (localStorage) we keep only your cookie settings for 12 months, so that we don't ask again, and, if you allow it, the language and theme you chose, until you change them or withdraw your permission. We also note the language and theme you chose in session storage (sessionStorage) until you close the browser tab. None of this data leaves your browser. On your first visit we open the Hungarian or the English version based on your browser's language setting; we don't store this, and you can switch the language in the header at any time.
TODO: confirm – only if Cloudflare's Bot Fight Mode is on, otherwise delete: To filter out bots, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) sets a security cookie (__cf_bm) that expires after 30 minutes; it is strictly necessary for the security of the website.

What are your rights?

Access: you can ask what data of yours we process and request a copy of it (Article 15 GDPR).
Rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate data (Article 16).
Erasure: you can ask us to erase your data if it is no longer needed or you have withdrawn your consent (Article 17).
Restriction: you can ask us to only store your data for a while, without using it (Article 18).
Data portability: you can ask for the data you provided to us in a machine-readable format where the processing is based on a contract or your consent (Article 20).
Objection: you can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21).
Withdrawing consent: where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal (Article 7(3)).

You can send your request by email or phone, and we will reply within one month at the latest (Article 12(3) GDPR). We do not carry out automated decision-making.

Where can you complain?

If you feel we have violated your data protection rights, please write to us, and we'll do our best to settle it quickly. You can also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:

You can also go to court; you may bring the case before the regional court (törvényszék) of your place of residence or stay. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of the EU member state where you habitually live or work (Article 77 GDPR), and you can bring court proceedings in the member state where you habitually live (Article 79(2)).

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our work, tell us by email, by post to the address in the legal notice, or by phone. We reply to written complaints in writing within 30 days and keep the complaint and our reply for 3 years.

If you contact us as a consumer (not on behalf of your business) and we cannot settle your complaint, you can turn to the conciliation body (békéltető testület) competent for your place of residence or stay, or for our registered office. The body competent for our registered office:
